Our Story
When Gonzalo Quiroz arrived in America, from Tuxpan, Michoacan, he chased his dream to open a restaurant that offered beautiful and exquisite dishes inspired by cuisine from different regions of Mexico. Hand-selected by Gonzalo himself, our Chef, Guerrero, was charged with designing the delicious signature offerings we all know and love today. Using only the finest, freshest, and local ingredients available was instrumental to realizing his dream and in November of 2022, Añejo Cantina & Kitchen was brought to life.
Unlike any other casual restaurant, Añejo offers the absolute best quality of food and services in a comfortable yet exciting environment reminiscent of Gonzalo’s hometown. In the early stages of designing this new concept, we drew inspiration from heartwarming and memorable moments made back in Tuxpan. As a result, we wanted to create a space to share the best times with friends and family while upholding a high standard of hospitality familiar with finer eateries. And to stimulate all five of your senses, we dedicated so much thought, effort, and pride into making a restaurant that our guests would feel truly special to be a part of. Every dish is masterfully presented to awe with every bite.
Being one of the few restaurants in San Jose to offer such an experience, we aim to set a new set of expectations from Mexican restaurants in our community.
